Gymnastics photos w/ 7D

So I am trying...this weekend's meet was in a very large place... The closest shots are from at least 50' and the balance beam shots are at least 125' away. Not ideal. Lighting was what it was-- So most shots were at ISO 3200 with the balance beam at ISO 5000. I have tried a noise program--NIK DeFine, but I think between ISO and the distance the pictures won't get much better. I think I like the software, but is it too strong? Should I back it off a bit? I've tried Topaz, but it doesn't do batching in Aperture. The others seemed to have clunky interfaces or were still in 32bit processing which required restarting Aperture...

Here are things I know already: Get closer (not possible and don't want to). Prime over zoom (see first). Someone will say to buy the 5DMkII (not really constructive-like telling a Miata owner they need a Porsche...) So thoughts?
