Meteor by moonlight...
Feb 21, 2011

I was out shooting some moonlit landscapes when this beauty streaked across the sky! Strictly LUCK! I can’t count the number of times I have been setting up my camera gear, or my camera is pointing the wrong way. The list goes on and on for the number of times that I am usually changing lenses, in between exposures, or I am driving. REALLY! I have seen countless numbers of meteors of this magnitude but have never been able to capture one. It’s a little different when there is a meteor shower on, but this stone was a totally random event and it actually happened while I was exposing too!!! I have also included a few other shots from the outing.

C+C's welcome! Thanks for looking!

3. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, f/3.5 @ 24 mm, 8s, ISO 1250

4. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, f/2.8 @ 24 mm, 13s, ISO 500

It's ALL about the light!
