S95 or LX5 - support for EOS 50D?

I intend very soon a several week trip to Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand) with my slr equipment Canon eos 50D + 17-55 EF-S 2,8 + 70-200 4 L IS.
For those situations I do not like to carry the full equipment with me and as a complement I am looking for a successor for my well loved Fuji Finepix F31fd.
Well, the Powershot S95 or the Lumix LX5 are in my short list.
What I do value:
wide angle @ least 28mm, better 24mm equiv.
fast and easy responce, mainly "P" mode, also for snapshots, good AF
very good color development even @ JPEG, I do not like a lot of work processing RAWs
good low light possability, low aperture, good image quality up to ISO 800
reliably exposure (bright sky, skin tones, green tones)
easy, non complicated handling, logical menus
manual modes possible
good battery life
size and weight 'pocketable'
feeling, body quality
I know that both S95 and LX5 do not fullfill all requirements
but I am looking for the ideal combination to my Canon SLR,
this could be the Canon, or should I better go for the Panasonic?!?
Or should I tend to a compact super zoom model, like Panasonic ZS7/TZ10 with a smaler sensor?
I tried several others, but did not like the handling of e.g. Samsung EX-1, Casio FH100.
Coming from a large sensor like Fuji F31fd has I am of corse biased but not totaly satisfied - missing wider angle, better lcd, better continous color exposure and IS.
Thank you
Alex
