E-PL2 sensor is sharp
Feb 8, 2011
|
There's been a lot of talk about the E-PL2 sensor not being as sharp as the E-PL1 because of a (rumored) stronger AA filter.
I think this is probably not true. I haven't done any scientific testing, but just like the E-PL1, the E-PL2 sensor wows me with its resolving power when looking at images.
Note -- I have "Noise Filter" turned down to "low".
A pic of a bird accidentally taken at ISO 800 when base ISO would have made more sense.
100% crop nevertheless has as much detail as you could want.
A pic of a boat (sorry about the duplication from my other post)
100% crop shows great detail.
My local Spanish Mission (slightly adjusted in LR3)
100% crop is amazing.
Finally, a pic from yesterday with an OM 24mm f2.8 legacy lens at f5.6
100% is WOW
