Help a new guy out with D7000 focus issues

I'm so new to the scene that I'm looking for some guidance to help identify any potential problems I might have with my new camera.

I haven't had the camera long at all, but after taking a few pictures with it and transferring them to my computer, I was always surprised to see I missed the focus on many of my shots (especially since they looked fine after a quick look on the LCD).
I know that I'm a new photographer but I didn't think I was that bad.

Then I came across this forum and saw all the focus issue threads and figured I'd try some tests.
I don't know if I did adequate tests but I hope I did.

If anyone could take the trouble to check out these shots, I would greatly appreciate it.

I thought it would be easier to combine them into one zip to keep original file size and everything intact:

All shots tripod mounted, f/1.8, 35mm, 1/15, ISO 250

-20 AF tune appears sharpest. Does this mean my camera is flawed? or lens?

The only other body I could test my 35mm 1.8 lens on is a D3000, which doesn't have AF tuning.

Thanks in advance.
If I need to provide anything else, let me know.
