It took me a few weeks to get used to Lightroom 1. I had been using RAW Shooter, DPP, Capture One and PS CS3 without any real regularity for viewing and processing my images. I never got enthusiastic about any of them, except maybe RAW Shooter, but then it was absorbed by Lightroom. Now, several years later, I love Lightroom 3.3. Once you get used to the catalog system and use it exclusively for downloading images, it is a great file management program. The ACR engine is superb for processing images, noise reduction, lens corrections, chromatic aberration removal, etc. Before Lightroom I used to go into Photoshop for more than 75% of my images; now I only do it on 10% -- the ones that need content aware fill, for smart objects or for HDR & panoramas. The tools in LR are good enough for almost everything else.
