Decided on the FZ45
Jan 31, 2011

After taking a number of pictures at various iso settings on an FZ100 and an FZ45
I decided to buy the FZ45.

The reasons - ISO 80,100,200 were usable OOC with the ISO400 needing a bit of work but again usable, the FZ100 really struggled at anything over base ISO setting, even at base ISO pictures looked better downsized, not a problem I know due the huge picture size generated by these cameras, but significant to me as I do crop quite often.

Since I am in the UK any help with using slightly higher ISO is an advantage.

I do not use the video functions or high speed burst mode so they were not important to me.

The better screen and hotshoe of the FZ100 would have been nice though

I do have an lx5 as well so the hotshoe and inside low light stuff is covered.

First impressions... Fantastic lense sharp at wide and long ends

Not throwing my FZ28 away yet but I am pleased with it so far.

This camera needs to be used sypathetically, it has a learning curve.

I have ordered the converter tube and tele converter for some astronomy pics
and wildlfe photography (light permitting!)

I will try and post some pics soon
