D3100 Auto ISO with SB-400 Flash = Great

I've been using manual ISO after reading about the Auto ISO jumping to maximum when the flash is used. Decided to turn it on today and test a little. Interesting that when taking shots at night with the SB-400 and camera on Auto ISO the 3100 digs deep to use the lowest possible setting. This is however NOT the case with the on-board flash. On-board flash jumps to maximum ISO (3200 in my case). I'm running the latest firmware released a few days ago.
