LOVE the SB-700

  • Snap-on tungsten and fluorescent gel. Unlike SB-900, where you have to take out the wallet of gels, pick the correct one, slide it properly into the gel holder, and finally, attach it to the flash itself. The SB-700 comes with these two little guys, and they just snap right on!

  • Dedicated TTL/M/GN selector. Unlike with the SB-900 where you gotta press M, then turn the wheel, and then hit OK, this little guy just lets you slide the selector to the desired mode and bam!

  • Dedicated light pattern selector. Unlike with the SB-900, where you have to go into settings and scroll through a list of options, this little TTL just lets you do it from the get go.

Nikon really ought to revise the SB-900 with these improvements, sort of a SB-900s.

Sure, the SB-700 isn't as powerful, can't accept external battery packs, doesn't have the zoom capabilities, but regardless, I'm loving the 700 over my 900!
