Rode Stereo VideoMic and 7D

Has anyone mounted a Rode Stereo VideoMic to the 7D hotshoe. Apparently the Stereo VideoMic has a 'standard' shoe mount, and the Canon one is proprietary? In other words, it won't fit. If anyone has solved this issue, I would really appreciate knowing what shoe adapter you used to mate the two?
