Nikon patent on 200-500 f/4-5.6: your take on price and use?

Hi,

The latest rumor on [NR] relates to a patent application regarding an FX 200-500 f/4-5.6 by Nikon (according to the application, it would be VR). Could that be the ultimate safari lens? What about using it on DX? Any bet as to the cost? If it can be below 2500 USD, sounds quite good...
