D7000 to 60D is it a downgrade?
Jan 9, 2011

I was having issues with the Nikon D7000 taking sharp pictures. My unit had a back focusing issue. The bundle I had was D7000 18-105mm VR f3.5-5.6, 35mm f1.8 and SB-600. I traded in for 60D 18-135IS f3.5-5.6, (Sigma) 30mm f1.4 and Speedlite 430EX II. Think that was a wise choice? The Canon is sharp with Phase-Detect AF but contrast detect AF is pitifully slow and not as accurate compared to the Nikon. The Nikon's Phase-Detect was back focusing but the Contrast Detect decently faster than Canon's and spot on sharp. I think I made a boo boo and should have just had Nikon fix the back focusing issue on the body. The Nikon 39point AF is nice but not a deal breaker, the 16vs18MP I can care less, the plastic vs magnesium body is favorable to D7000, dual SD card was also a nice feature on D7000. I also miss the timed shutter feature for creating time lapse photos. dang...
