Epson 3880 images too warm and dark
Jan 8, 2011

I just upgraded from an Epson R1800 to a 3880. I print from Qimage with the driver set to let the printer manage the color. I have the 3880 driver set for Automatic and EPSON Standard (sRGB). I am printing in color with the Photo Black ink on both Exhibtion Fiber and Permium Glossy. When I compare the same print from the R1800 to the 3880 the prints seem to have a slightly redish cast and the blue skies are darker. The whole image seems as if it is a couple shades darker.

I was wondering if this was my monitor as I have not calibrated it. However the picture from the R1800 looks more like the monitor. I pulled down some test prints and printed them on the 3880 and compared them to the image on a couple different monitors and the test print seems to have the same warmer cast.

Any ideas on what I could do to fix this? Thanks.
