E5 Firmware Curiosity

I use ESP metering as default on my E5. AEL is set to spot or center, depending.

When I press the AEL button, the metering icon on the top LCD changes to indicate that I'm using spot or center. The main LCD does not!

On my E30, both icons change. Can't imagine that the difference in behavior is intentional.
