I finally got a D700... a Xmas gift from me I had a fairly good deal for a Mint camera (4000 clicks) and already had a Nikkor 70-300 VR lens. I added a Nikkor 50 mm 1.4G. That should be enough for practicing. Of course I absolutely love the camera, it is a huge step from my D80 and my FZ35. I found the learning curve much steeper than I thought, especially around the AF system. After reading for hours and practicing at about everything, I am getting close.... Unfortunately, I had no time to get out and shoot interesting stuff... so my first shot on this forum will be a ridiculous squirrel directly from my patio door I am planning to add a few lenses pretty soon, an excellent macro, a nice wide angle, I am just about to receive a Nikkor 24-70 2.8 but I absolutely need an all around lens for trekking. I do a lot of high altitude trek and I cannot afford to carry 3-4 lenses with me. This one is not easy to find... for now I am thinking 24-120 F4 but I am afraid I might me disappointed with it.... we'll see... for now, I still have lot to learn.
