what is that tripod attachement called

I have a large tripod that has the quick release plate, the normal kind. But my table top tripod just has the screw, that i would then screw into the camera, how would i get some small attachment to fit in the screw on the tabletop tripod, and then get a small quick release plate for the nex 5?
