ACR in CS3 : how to upgrade?

HI,

I used CS3 and can't afford to upgrade right now. Nonetheless, I would like to have the latest version of ACR as it has a much better NR algorithm ( same as LR3 ).

I was thinking of getting PSE9 as it has the latest module but I am wondering whether it would work seamlessly with CS3.

My workflow would be to open the file in PSE9, do my NR is ACR and then open the file in CS3 for further editing.

Anyone tried this combination?
