New Year- New Desktop

I need a new desktop.
The Laptop I'm currently working is 5 years old.
It still makes a wonderfull job, but he has some problem to handle quickly the big files generated by my DSLs.
Moreover I want to have a 22 inch good monitor for PP.
I have some ideas about the hardware.
I have some doubt about the OS.
Windows NX, or Windows 7?
The software that I mostly run are Photoshop and Capture NX2.
