s9000 to hs10?

I'd like opinions from people who have made this jump. I sold my s9000 when I moved on to a D-SLR. I still have fond memories of the s9000. In fact I did a shoot that was published in the first issue of a magazine.
I said no to the sf100s because I thought it was too big and I liked the AA batteries from the s9000. I did not get the s200exr because it wasn't as wide because of the smaller sensor. When the hs100 was announced, I wasn't interested at 500.00, but 340.00 (at B&H) gets me thinking. I still wonder if manufacturers are asking too much of the smaller sensors used in the megazooms.
I'm not expecting SLR performance, but for the current price, what do you think? Am I right to be concerned about performance vs. the s9000? or the sf100/s200exr?
