D7000 - Why no focus point on top LCD

Could not find a thread on this issue but what annoys the most with my D7000 (actually the only thing annoying me around this piece of art) is that the selected focus point cannot be seen on the top LDC but only through the viewfinder.

Is this the case or is it a matter of menu settings?
