Canon australia + lens adjustments + US import
Dec 1, 2010

Following on from the 'sharp 100-400' I'm even more eager to buy myself one.

It seems that it's cheapest now to buy the lens from the US (even cheaper than a Hong Kong import)* however I'm corcerned that if I received a 'bad copy' that needed to be adjusted by Canon - would Canon Australia be happy to adjust an imported lens? Or would it involve sending it back and forth across the Pacific to be adjust.

Anyone have any experience of this with this lens or any other lenses?

cheers
Dan

Before anyone says I should support my local retailers - the price delivered by UPS from the U.S. is AUD$1556 - the cheapest I can see in Sydney AUD$2,099. Even with GST added I could still save enough to get an extender as well.
