Video capability gone AWOL?
Nov 28, 2010

In the recent group test with the Canon S95, Panasonic LX5 and Nikon P7000 there was precious little mention of the relative capabilities of these cameras for video recording.

Why did this go AWOL (Absent without leave)?

Was it:

  • dpreview did not have enough time to evaluate their capabilities in the rush for publication?

  • dpreview prefers to concentrate on still imaging capacity only?

  • both of the above?

  • something else altogether?

In an age when almost every digital camera manufacturer is seeking to combine still image and video recording in the same device, I think we need to have some opinions/answers here!
