Problem with D2x
Nov 27, 2010

I'm posting two D2x .jpg crops. The first has a line north of center, with a shift in the body of the animal; the problem with the second is, shall I say, readily apparent. One might think this was a shutter problem, but the simultaneous NEFs show neither flaw. Perhaps related (or not) is that the body has had a disturbing and unpredictable propensity to freeze after an actuation, especially when it's hot, and has been to Nikon twice for this with no success. I say perhaps not, because the lockup problem is fairly old, and this is the first time for the bizarre .jpg flaws.

I haven't tried just shooting .nef yet to see if this eliminates the lockup. I know I need to get scientific with the analysis, but in the meantime--Anybody seen anything like this, or have any ideas? The body has appx. 70k actuations.

Thanks,
