M43 sensor technology: How much better can it get?

I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of my GF1 the past year. For me (and many here, I'm sure) a great balance between quality and weight. Obviously it can't compare to my 5D, but the Canon kit is not particularly enjoyable to lug around. When I'm shooting for "real" the 5D comes along. But every other day the GF1 is in my bag.

I'm curious as to what others here think about the sensor technology in M43. Will they make a breakthrough or will we see incremental improvements before it hits a wall?
