Video editing - my new T2i or camcorder

After the death of my 40D, I traded my XSi for a T2i. Amazing little machine. An added bonus is the video. I need to do short videos for promotion of my day job. I figured I'de jump right in to it, but the idea of editing is quite intimidating after my on line research of the process. I'm looking to produce 1 to 3 minute videos of talking heads intercut with photos that will wind up on You Tube and the like. Simple stuff but I'm reading about changing formats, syncing audio, etc and it looks anything but simple. Would I be better off getting a dedicated Canon camcorder for the type of projects I'm looking to do. The whold file format thing has befuddled me. If anyone could enlighten me on the best way of getting high quality video onto You Tube I'de be greatful.
