As everyone has said, Long + Fast = Expensive. Your 200 pounds just won't do it. Not really. Moreover, most lenses that cover wide to 200 or more are a compromise you probably don't want. Exchanging lenses is part of SLR photography.

Shooting under lights at night is probably not going to happen unless you're going to spend really serious money, as many have said. My lens for such purposes cost me $5500 new.

My advice would be to save and get either Nikon's new 55-300 or the excellent 70-300 VR. Both are not fast enough for night and sports, but both will do fine in good daylight conditions and both are rather inexpensive. They will make a great 2nd lens for you.
