Does it make sense to own both 135mm f/2L and 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II?
Nov 5, 2010

I'm finding the need for IS much more vital than originally thought ... I also notice that I rarely rarely use my 135mm f/2L.

I have no doubt that it's a nice lens, but I just don't use it much. I'm thinking of selling it to afford the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II.

I didn't want to buy the zoom before because it was rather bulky and I feel it's a little overkill for shooting friends and family ... But hey, I love taking great pictures so I'll deal.

My dilemma is if I should sell my 135mm or keep it ... I love it's small form factor and the fact that it's black. So it'll let me get some great shots in good light without being too imposing.

Does anyone own both of these? Do you think you still needed the 135mm after acquiring the zoom?
