Best software for editing scanned negatives and removing noise
Oct 31, 2010

Hello Everyone,

I've recently had all my wedding negatives (from 10 years ago) scanned at 4000dpi and was given 128mb tiff files along with JPEG files (3-4 mb each). I've never worked with scanned negatives before and am unsure about my workflow from here. I'm going to do all my editing using the tiff format. Should I use lightroom 3.2 or photoshop CS5? What is the best way to remove noise from scanned negatives? Is the noise algorithm in photoshop and lightroom capable to handle noise from film?

Thanks!
