D3100 lenses (having a baby)

So I've decided on the D3100 for my first DSLR. Amazon has the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR kit for just $650 and I like the feel and options for starting out. The big question is what extra lenses to go with. THey are running some really good discounts with purchase of a DSLR but I'm not sure what works best for a newborn and typical vacation shots.
1) 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR zoom Nikkor lens @ $315
full-frame lens for future upgrading but heavy and might be more than I need
2) 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX @ $264
lighter, but DX only
3) 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR @ $119
lighter, IF, but DX only and less zoom
Its my understanding that I need something specific for closeup baby shots so...
1) 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX @ $187
dx only, more expensive
2) 50mm f/1.8D AF @ $119
is it even practical for me to use this since its not AF-S?
The 70-300vr for $315 seems like such a good deal, but the 55-200vr and 35/1.8 could both be had for less. I'm starting to think the 35mm will be what I use most with a baby and wonder if I'll even need up to 300mm. Of course, I have no clue how the kit lens falls into this.
