The in-camera processing to 'push' the exposure one stop to compensate for the underexposed image creates the extra shadow noise.

There's no extra noise shooting 200 with HTP, as opposed to 200 without, other than the extra absolute read noise at ISO 100. 200 with HTP is just 100 under-exposed by one stop, and the camera does no "work" to do this; the converter simply recognizes the implicit push needed. There is no "work" in this "push"; just a different scalar.

IOW, you get the exact same noise as if you'd "underexposed" ISO 100 by one stop.
