Botanists first camera
Oct 29, 2002

I will soon be buying my first camera (heard that before?) and I have been investigating and have come up with the following options. I welcome and appreciate any advice.
I am an herbalist and botanist and so many of my photos will be of plants and this is primary in my search of an appropriate camera. Close-ups and photos of trees are an interest of mine, as well as everyday shots.
I would like to keep to around $650-700 with all neccessary accessories etc.
At first i was intersted in a 10x Olympus but the less expensive one gobbled batteries and i heard it was hard to get a steady shot.
So i am currently looking at the Sony DSCS75 and the Olympus c-4000 and though they are only 3x optical they seem easy to use and that is also important to me as I am not tech savvy. I am also looking at the Fuji Finepix S602 zoom
I'm sorry about the ramble and again I appreciate any advice Thank you
