By now I can add another take away.

If you decide to start refilling, use your genuine Canon cartridges for refilling and don't purchase refillables from other brands for your printer. The original cartridges are taylored for your printer and usually protected by patents, so the other brands would be the next best thing. I have experience with refilling both genuine and other brands; the genuine never leak, the others sometimes do.

Shortly after my last post in september I threw out my non-Canon refillabe cartridges and bought one (hopefully last) set of canon. I used to drill the holes in the top of the cartridge and seal with a philips screw, but now am considering to use the german durchstich method for refilling. It may take some time before that moment comes, however, as ink levels still haven't dropped considerably after one month
