Only thing I would try is maybe lightening up the darker pics. The -0.3 EV compensation sometimes needs +ve compensation in PP to bring out details in lighter areas.

An Auto Levels correction in Photoshop may do the trick.

You are right I should have lightened up the picture by setting up the compensation level becuase I took it early in the morning where the sun has just risen.

I usually use Auto Exposure in ACDSee Photo Manager 2009 to sharpen pictures. But for these picture I didn't do anything except resized them with Picasa because I want to get the comments with the new settings. Based on my experience with today's pictures, it is likely that I will remain to use the Auto Exposure tool
