G9 vs G12, should I upgrade?

Dumb stupid question but there you go.

We're off to Hawaii on vacation this weekend and I've decided against lugging my 9kg worth of dSLR kit with me and am just going to travel light with my G9?

However, now that the G12 is out I have half an eye on an upgrade before I go. But would you say it's worth me upgrading for this trip? (bog standard holiday type snaps?)
