might be that his PP was at least partially responsible for the contrast,
but the resolution indeed has a very different feel - It was the very
first time I'd ever heard about the Coke Triplet

I think the Nikon AIS lenses are great, I just don't like the lack of autofocus, etc. When I shoot digital I want it to be easy.

editing had screwed the name - it was Nikkor 28/2 AIS, a very special
lens as its focusing cam seems to behave logarithmically: lots of leeway
close to MFD and then very little; excellent lens for hip shooting on
streets:

so the lack of AF is not necessarily a problem, and it might be an
advantage,
