Feedback and recommendations on the Sony SLT-A55 review
Thank you for your recent review of the new Sony SKT-A55. I wish to make a few comments and recommendations for the review process:
1) Although the kit lens uses Sony's new SAM built-in motor system, there is no mention of whether or not the camera still contains the Sony/Minolta-compatible slotted-screw drive. I believe it does, as (after going back and forth several times to several different sites, including Sony's) the camera body itself contains a "AF/MF" switch, but confirmation via mention of lens compatibility would be appreciated. A photo of the entire mount's circumference (the only photo shown has cropped top and bottom) would have removed this confusion, as well.
2) Lately, you have lowered the number of competitive cameras you show in the body size comparison panel photo. You used to show 4, now you seem to only show one. Four is much more informative and allows many readers at least one level of comparison when we have not handled the single body in question but have handled one of the others (more data points is always useful). A size comparison photo adding the SLT-A55's most obvious competitors - the Canon 550 and Panasonic G2 (as they are the default comparison in your noise widget) would be most helpful.
3) Your new noise widget, in graph mode, uses 2 colors (a beige) far too close to one another to immediately and most easily discern. An addition of red (for the camera under test in this review) to the graph will allow only 1 shade of beige to be used in the comparison chart, removing the confusion.
