Why I think 46MP is fair on Sigma SD1

I've shot with Canon 5D mark 2 quite a lot - lots of weddings and also done some smaller tests between SD14 and Canon 5D Mark 2, that would be 4,6MP (14MP) vs 21MP on the Canon.. Here's one of my comparisons which originally was intended to give you an idea about the new 50-500 OS..

The Canon delivers more resolution - also due to a possibly sharper lens but the differens when viewed on monitor is in some parts of the picture so low that it's almost ridiculous.

AND the canon NEVER gives that extra dimension to any shot that makes my Sigma shots so special - it's never as dense, as thick somehow.

So in my world, 46MP it is, and I believe it's fair . Or we could talk about the Sigma as we talk about film. pixel free images. Because that's also my feeling when viewing those prints.
