Where are the DX primes?

Can it just be me? With the 24 and 35mm 1.4 well out of my price range, I would really like some affordable primes for DX replication of classic, wide angles. Where is the 16mm to give us a 24mm equivalent- or an 19mm for 28mm? Basically, if we want a wide angle on DX we either have to use a zoom, which can lead to lazy composition, or invest in the ultra-expensive ultra-wides from Nikon's film days.

I envy the micro 4/3's selection here and also Pentax's. Nikon makes small enough DSLRs for me to be happy sticking with them (I don't really want to invest in a new system if I don't have to). So please, Nikon, some affordable, wide, perhaps DX-only primes. Here's hoping the 35mm f/1.8 was just the beginning.
