Sorry when I look at the 20K shots or so on D700 and 10K shots or so on D300 and similar number on D40 and the few thousand so far on the D5K I have come to the conclusion metering is not where hardware improvement wish list is

with the bodies that I have currently are:
1) Faster focus

2) Better predictive tracking ( doubt the new metering module will help with reduced focus points )

3) Better dynamic range at the current range of ISO ( no need for any more from me )
5) Faster FPS

Have yet to see meteriing blowing the "kodak" moment.

There is NO F* G way that the ISO of the D7000 is going to approach that what the D3/D700 let alone the D3s. Its 18 Meg, there is no secret sauce here that will get them 3+ stops and pixels.

If that's the case then they should definitely be interested in the D7000, seeing that it has Nikon's most advanced metering to date.
