Gidday again Roel
You do realize, don't you, that it was the place where the Gods live?
Even us colonial Orstialians are not completely lacking a classical eddycashun, Roel. Used to love the Greek, Roman and Norse mythologies in my young adulthood - I know about Valhalla and Mount Olympus etc. Isn't that where the Pope lives? Lol.
I knew you knew your classics (hence the "you do, don't you?"). The mythology lesson was intended for trolls roaming this forum.
It has always been easy to confuse gods with outcasts from a mere mortal's perspective. All these crazy ideas and powers...
Lol! Shouldn't you be packing, or something ...
Well, I am right in the middle of packing.
But I can't go cold turkey on DPR while there is still a computer around.
I am actually at my day job's office right now, and pinching 5 minutes here and there.
The packing, in case you are interested, is quite a task actually.
I have decided to take two full set-ups with me, with which I can do the job, independent of the other set-up. Just hedging my bets in case one of my cases gets lost or stolen. I need to be able to function with the other.
My carry on backpack will contain (JUST within 10 kg limits):
E-3
ZD7-14, PL25, ZD35-100, ZD150, FL50R + cards, batteries, charger, ...
In my checked luggage cheap-looking suitcase, I will have a shockproof and watertight box (type Pelican) with :
second E-3 (the one on loan) + LX3 (to walk around at night)
ZD8mm, ZD12-60, ZD50 and EX-25, ZD 50-200, FL36R
Also in that case : monopod head, backup HD (Hyperdrive album : backs up CF cards automatically without need of computer, and contains software to view RAW files), charger, cards, batteries.
Also in the suitcase : large collapsible reflector/diffusor, monopod
For the trip back, I will carry my full CF cards on my body, and have backed-up images on the Hyperdrive Album to have one copy of everything in separate places.
I had thought about moving the on-loan 12-60 to my main gear bag, but that would leave the second set-up with too large gaps between 8mm, 25mm and 50mm.
If I have all of that packed (with copies of invoices for customs), my suitcase has just enough room left for a toothbrush and some shorts and T-shirts and one extra pair of shoes. I won't be entering a beauty contest over there , I am sure.
