Re: What price?
In reply to SirSeth, Sep 22, 2010

Price is only suggested by Oly and retailers today have figured out that people will pay through the nose to get the latest and greatest tech.

I imagine that Oly will in fact be offering holiday rebates tru to form as per past experience, $100 on the E-5 body and additional rebates on select lenses and accessories, probably a mail in but possibly 'instant' to spur initial sales.

If there is a very slow demand for the E-5 and retailers are not moving enough inventory then they (the retailers) will start dropping the price. I see the retail price dropping $50 -$100 after a few months but the suggested msrp will remain the same until OLy is well into the model run and about to replace it like they did with the E-3 which stayed at $1699 for over 2 years.
