fast AF speed lens for children portraits?
Sep 19, 2010

Hi, I take a lot of children portaiture shots. I am wondering if there might me a better lens for me to use. I have a D90 and mainly use the 50/1.4 G or 35/1.8. I tried the sigma 50/1.4 but must not have gotten a good copy because it has some serious focus issues. I often use natural light, though I also use a couple of speedlights on stands (various modifiers) as well. Anyway, I am wondering if there might be a better lens for me to use in terms of AF speed. Those littles ones move around a lot and I often have many images that are out of focus (I have AF set to continuous). I have read some posts that say the 24-70 has great AF speed. Would this perhaps be a better lens for me to use? Any other suggestions?
