85mm F/1.4D vs 85mm F/1.4G

Got the new one yesterday, I shot some stuff outside and got rather frustrated by the loCA that seems to be more than on the old lens. The 85 always had an issue with that.

I did tonight a very quick compare, and indeed, the bokeh characteristic is considerably different on the G, with the highlights in near field being much softer on the borders on the new lens, resulting in the loCA being apparently bigger as a side effect.

Again, this is not meant in any way as a scientific or artistic comparison, I am sure there will plenty others that will compare better shots and subjects, just wanted to share my quick findings.

It also seems that the G is a bit longer, more like 87mm.
