To those who poo-pood naysayers as childish whiners...

... let's look at the reality.

The new generation flagship of the Olympus line has just been out spec'd and, given Nikon's history, probably out IQ'd by a $699 USD mid-range camera from Nikon.

That's always be my issue with the E-5.

It's a super upgrade to the E-3, but by giving it the E-5 designation Oly has signaled that this is their "new generation" flagship for the next couple of years.

I would have rather seen it announced as an E-3u - an upgrading of a great camera that had grown a bit long in the tooth.

But, by announcing it as the next generation, professional, flagship E-5, I think Oly has put themselves in a bad way in positioning their product line.
