Re: Canon releases PowerShot G12 premium compact

Well, Canon has left the abysmal back panel alone, so regardless of the nice new dial on the front and the ability to attach filters (finally!) the handling has not improved and settings can still change when you pick it up with your right hand, if you are not very very careful... which of course is impossible in many circumstances.
At least they could have done something about the over-exposed lower right button, the most egregious offender (though all the buttons desperately need shrouds).
What's the point of a fine photo machine if you accidentally take an infinity photo in closeup mode because you were in a hurry and used your right hand to grasp the camera?
The G12 is a tiny step in the right direction, but the back panel still exhibits the old flawed solutions to settings control shared by most digital cameras.
Will we ever get a better ergonomic approach to digitography? Come on Canon! Think outside the box (and exposed buttons)!!!
