RAW thumbnails disappeared

I've lost my Panasonic RAW image in Windows Explorer after associating Photo Shop Elements with RW2 files. I tried re-installing the Panasonic RAW codec but without success. The thumbnails that were generated before installing PSE 8 are still visible but any new RAW files are just displayed as a PSE icon. Anyone have any ideas how to get thumbnails back?
