silly 5Dii operation..

So here is a typical shooting scenario for me:

• I take a shot

• I wait about 15s for something interesting to happen..

• ha ! now the great moment; let me set the new focus point based on the conditions

guess what ? I cannot change the focus point !!! the camera went in idle mode. I need to first wake it up using a half shutter press, then I can change the focus point.

It is SOO annoying.

Any remedy to this ? How can this be so ill-conceived ?
