Having a hard time deciding between new Tamron 70-300 and Nikon 70-300

for the same price ($400) I can buy either the new tamron or the refurb nikon. I am having a hard time deciding.

I have owned a few Tamrons. Still have the 17-50 2.8 and the 90 mm2.8. Both of these are great lenses.

I am curious that they are saying their new 70-300 lens has the best optics in its class. Do you imagine that includes the nikon?

If there were a few bucks separating them the decision would be easier. But they are basically the same price.

I am leaning toward the Tamron. It's a newer lens, their VC is very effective, and I like the images the Tamron lenses give.

Does anyone here have some words of wisdom to help with this??
