Question about Tamron 90mm auto/manual focus switch

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if the switch on the camera - A100 must be in accordance with the switch on the lens. What happens when:

• AF on camera / MF on lens

• and vice versa?

Is there a risk of damaging the gears?
I can see myself forgetting to change both...
