Telezoom options...confused

There are a few quality zoom options here but I'm not sure which pairs to pick. Any input would be appreciated. I would like a combo that's wide and goes fairly tele to between 400-500mm. Here are my options:
1. the Nikon AF 80-400mm VR and that's it
2. the 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikon and a Sigma 150-500mm
3. the Nikon 70-300mm VR and Sigma 150-500mm
I think I'd worked out another combo but can't remember it. The 70-300 really works because it's awesome, way cheaper than the 70-200, but most importantly, it's so damn light and easy to carry compared to the 70-200. Then again, the 70-200's optical quality is a notch up, not to mention, it's faster but aside from more $$$, it weighs way more. The 80-400 is a nice all in one option except that I've heard AF is too darn slow, and it's rather heavy as compared to the 70-300. I've just realized the true value and importance of great glass after printing a 16 x 20 from a D90 from my 18-105; not that it was bad in the least, just that a really nice lens would make such a difference. And I do believe optically from what I've seen, that the 70-300 from 70-105, definitely beats the 18-105's sharpness at most focal lengths by a bit. Do you have any good options?
